Pro-Life Hoosiers Pleased Gorsuch Will Serve on Supreme Court

April 7, 2017

WASHINGTON – Indiana Right to Life’s President and CEO, Mike Fichter, released the following statement upon the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court:

“We’re thrilled the U.S. Senate confirmed Neil Gorsuch to serve a lifelong appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. Gorsuch recognizes the sanctity of human life. He is a conservative pick who has stated, ‘Human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable.’

“Thousands of pro-life Hoosiers spent countless hours urging their senators to support Gorsuch. From signing our petition to attending rallies outside of offices of the non-committal Sen. Joe Donnelly, Hoosiers were willing to make their voices heard. Hoosiers were undeniably dedicated in their effort to ensure Gorsuch’s confirmation.”

Indiana Right to Life and several of its affiliates joined the Pro-life Court Coalition in sending a letter in support of Gorsuch to the U.S. Senate. The text of the letter, signed by sixty organizations is available here.

Indiana’s Senators, Todd Young and Joe Donnelly, voted for Gorsuch.

Indiana Right to Life’s mission is to protect the right to life, especially of unborn children, through positive education, compassionate advocacy and promotion of healthy alternatives to abortion.
