March 23, 2016

A press release in support of HEA 1337, the dignity for the unborn bill, from our friends at Catholic Medical Guilds of Indiana:

Catholic Med Assoc

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (3/23/16):
The physician members of the Catholic Medical Association in Indiana strongly support HB 1337 that includes protection of unborn children with disabilities. We applaud our legislature in passing this and heartily encourage Governor Pence to sign this bill to protect the most vulnerable of Hoosiers. We want Governor Pence to know that many physicians do support his actions. We do not believe the claims of pro-abortion physicians who say that women will be harmed by this bill. On the contrary, many women will be spared the anguish of having taken a life, and many lives of young Hoosiers who have much happiness to give will be saved.

Indianapolis – Indiana Right to Life President and CEO Mike Fichter issued this statement following passage this afternoon of House Bill 1337 by a 37-13 vote in the Indiana Senate:

“Today’s Senate vote brings us one step closer to ending the disposal of aborted babies as medical waste in Indiana, to safeguarding against the embryo in woman handharvesting of baby parts for experimentation, and to preventing discrimination against unborn babies because of disability, sex, or the color of their skin. We now urge the Indiana House to take swift action in bringing this important bill to Governor Pence’s desk.”

Indiana Right to Life’s mission is to protect the right to life, especially of unborn children, through positive education, compassionate advocacy and promotion of healthy alternatives to abortion.
