Exposing the Culture of Death during 40 Days for Life
September 25, 2013
I can’t think of an effort to end abortion that’s more peaceful than 40 Days for Life. Every time I visit a 40 Days for Life location or see the faithful prayer warriors keeping vigil, they are always so calm and friendly. They aren’t exuberant, for they know the task of praying to end abortion is a serious one – lives are at stake – but they really are the kindest people you will ever meet. They want to help both mom and baby have a chance at life as God-intended it.
With the 40 Days for Life effort starting this week, I was doing some tweeting, both personally and professionally, and came across some tweets trying to co-opt the #40daysforlife hashtag.
While the above tweets certainly cause head-shaking (I mean is “PUKE” really the most logical way to support your position for abortion?!), they also cause us to remember our prayers need to include more than just the mothers and babies.
This 40 Days for Life we pray for our culture of death that accepts abortion as a logical option, and pray that abortion would become unthinkable in our fallen world.
