Indianapolis – Indiana Right to Life is pleased to announce the hire of Becky Rogness as Communications Director. Rogness comes to Indiana Right to Life from Washington, D.C. where she ran Representative Michele Bachmann’s (MN-6) press shop on Capitol Hill. Rogness will manage Indiana Right to Life’s public relations and new media initiatives.

“We welcome Becky to Indiana and are pleased she will be able to apply her years of experience in our nation’s capital to our statewide pro-life efforts,” said Mike Fichter, President and CEO of Indiana Right to Life. “As life continues to come under attack, including through the President’s own health care law, we believe Becky is the right person to ensure our message of protecting life is shared with all Hoosiers.”

“I’m thrilled to join the staff of the Indiana Right to Life,” said Rogness. “It’s a privilege to be a voice for the voiceless. I look forward to protecting and promoting the sanctity of life through the communication efforts of Indiana Right to Life.”

Rogness officially begins on Monday, August 27, but will be spending the week in Tampa, Fla. at the Republican National Convention. You can follow her tweets at @beckyrogness.

Rogness graduated magna cum laude from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minn. in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She is currently working towards her Master of Arts in Communication from Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C. In addition to serving as Press Secretary for Bachmann, Rogness’ other communication roles include Press Assistant for the 2008 Republican National Convention, intern at Fox News Channel in New York City in 2007 and her current role as Communications Manager for Allen County Right to Life.
